Austen Brantley

Austen Brantley is a self-taught figurative sculptor from Detroit. His art is inspired by African and classical art and aims to continue the traditions of the Harlem Renaissance. Brantley’s work emphasizes craftsmanship, which can be seen in its finished quality and attention to detail.

Brantley is the recipient of both a 2023 Kresge Artist Fellowship and a 2017 Gilda Award.
