Amp Fiddler

Born and raised in Detroit, soul/funk artist Amp Fiddler (1958–2023) first studied music at Oakland and Wayne State Universities, and later with jazz great Harold Mckinney. He is a musician, performing artist, producer, and sound designer. Fiddler has written and performed with artists such as Prince, George Clinton, Primal Scream, Moody Man, Jay Dilla, Maxwell, Basement Jaxx, The Brand New Heavies, The Enchantments, Seal, Sly and Robbie, Questlove, and Corinne Bailey Rae. Fiddler has designed sound libraries for both Native Instruments (a music software developer) and Akai Professional (a high-end audio electronic distributor) that have sold more than 25,000 units across both the iPhone iMaschine app and physical drum machines. In addition, he has created four solo albums.
