Vincent Chandler

A jazz trombonist, composer, arranger, band leader, mentor, and professor of jazz studies at Wayne State University, Vincent Chandler was born in Detroit. He is a protege of local heroes such as Donald Walden, Marcus Belgrave, Harold McKinney, Kenn Cox, Teddy Harris, and Wendell Harrison. Chandler regularly performs with the top Detroit artists, including Marion Hayden, Gayelynn McKinney, and Dwight Adams. Additionally, he has performed with internationally renowned artists such as Herbie Hancock, Marcus Miller, Wynton Marsalis, Joe Henderson, Geri Allen, Roy Hargrove, and JD Allen. Chandler is a bandleader who employs younger musicians in a mentoring capacity.
